Colonies originating from the Lin2CD452 fraction could be attributed to contaminating cells with a Lin2CD45dimCD34+ phenotype (Fig. 1C and 1D). We then tested the ability of Lin2CD452 cells to survive and grow in different media known to be suitable for the expansion/ differentiation of embryonic-like stem cells [3,21], HUCBSC [17,22], and hNSC [14] and on different substrates (Table 1).
