Biological Activity Measured by its ability to induce hemoglobin expression in K562 human chronic myelogenous leukemia cells. The ED50for this effect is 0.2-1.2 ng/mL.The specific activity of Activin A is approximately 1 IU/g. Purity > 95% as determined by SDS-PAGE. Endotoxin Formulation Lyophilized from 0.2 m filtered concentrated solution in 30 % acetonitrile and 0.1 % TFA. Reconstitution We recommend that this vial be briefly centrifuged prior to opening to bring the contents to the bottom. Reconstitute in sterile 4 mM HCl to a concentration of 0.1-0.5 mg/ml. Further dilutions should be made in appropriately buffered solutions.
